It's pancakes and coffee day

Morning: Omelettry Had a meet up to have breakfast with Thi.  The day started off mild and cool, so it called for some warm pancakes! That place never disappoints me. No matter what I order, I have to satisfy my tummy with blueberry buttermilk pancakes. To all those that had inquired, I do eat my pancakes from the inside out.  The reason being is that I go straight for the moist and goodness.  There is no reason and no time to waste when it comes to deliciousness.  I do not like pancake crust for some reason, I see it as a waste of tummy space. :) The reason why there is some crust missing, is because Thi had to try some.  Typical to eat from the outside and miss out on the goodness in the inside.  So for some good home-style, missing mom's breakfast food, go here.  I've been going here for years. Service and food has yet to put a frown on my face. Two thumbs up!

Dog: Cu Nho.  He sleeps just as much or maybe even more than I do.  When I am getting ready for my day, he just lays there until I have to step out of the door. Lazy.

Snack: Bi-colored corn taste so good.

Field Trip: Lilly and Baby J (long hair)

Midnight Snack: Velveeta.  Oh my gosh, this is good!

Yoga: Black Swan Yoga Took Vinyasa Dance taught by Tyler. It was my first Vinyasa Dance and it is not going to be my last. I had so much fun just being free, moving free and having a good time! I danced like a fool, acted like a fool and felt good about it.  It was from 8:30-10:30 pm.  The session started off with regular vinyasa and gradually moved into some free flowing moves.  The fact that yoga is so non-judgmental, you can move freely and enjoy it.  Know your body, know how it wants to move, allowing it to move how it wants to move.  That was when the fun started.  We danced and pranced all around the studio and calmed down with some Sound Bath. The sound bath we had here was where we sat in a tight circle and just concentrated on our breathing, exhaling whatever comes out and just bathing your surrounding in sound, vibration, rhythm and peace. The session ended in the gong.  If you have never experienced this, you need to. I cannot explain the sensation of winding down, breathing to the vibration and just soaking in the positive vibes. This session was a great way for me to end my Friday night.

Recap: Dance is allowing the body to be free. I like free. Who doesn’t?

Boo-liscious!

Morning: Woke up ten minutes before 9 rushing to get out of the door.  I had trouble sleeping last night.  I woke up with my muscle’s feeling very tight and in much need a good deep stretch. Breakfast consisted of cupcakes from H-E-B.  They were boo-liscious! Of course I ate only one and the other will be devoured on Thursday when I am back at work.

Lunch: Luby’s.  Ran errands and enjoyed the humid weather that the great nice rain left.

Liquor: 360 Vodka makes Cola and Double Chocolate. Yum!

Recap: I had paid $20.00 for unlimited one week yoga sessions at Bodhi.  Obviously I had a bad first time experience there to where I have not been back.  I will drive the extra distance for a good yoga session.  Bodhi just did not do it for me.

Music: Today Jewel’s song played nicely in my head.

Where did my Sunday go?

I did not go to bed till 5am from hanging out with friends and family.  Did the downtown ventures and met back at the house for birthday bar-b-ques.  It is nice to hang out with my sister everyonce in a while.  The fact that I had gone to bed late, I naturally did not roll out of bed till close to one pm.

I had wasted my day sleeping.

Lunch: Lobster with greens.

Sunday Football: Watched Dallas Cowboys beat Kansas City with my father.  He is starting to talk to me more now that I understand the game.

Yoga: I did my sixth session of yoga at Black Swan Yoga. Hatha was fun and it had nice stretches.  Class was taught by Lauren.  http://www.blackswanyoga.com/bios.html She was really fun and made us laugh a lot.  I can tell that she took classes from Keith because his style of teachings was shown through hers. (Dharma Yoga)  Class today was dedicated to myself again.  I feel that this class was nice to end my week.  It was not too hard nor was it easy.  We had practiced basic Sivananda Asanas. It was my first time and it was challenging for the headstand part. Maybe not this time but hopefully next time I can do it all on my own. I can onyl lift up my leg into a straight headstand with a partner supporting my hip. More information on basic Sivananda Asanas: http://www.citypaper.com/digest.asp?id=16221 and http://www.sivanandayoga.co.nz/

Dinner: My classic version of Hamburger Helper.  I was craving some good hearty boxed dinner.  Made it with Extra Lean 96/4 ground meat. It was yummy! I am so use of cooking anything for a party of at least 2-4, therefore I have extra for lunch/dinner tomorrow.

Desserts: I met up with Irene to catch up and have Tomunchihttp://www.tomunchi.com/

Recap:  My day was relaxing for a nice rainy day.  Did not do much but feel energetic.  I am hoping to get a jog in at least tomorrow if I can.  I really need to lose some weight and tone up that body!  Overall, I have been spending a lot more one-on-one time with my good friends to catch up.

Cherry toe socks kind of day

Morning: Started my day with breakfast at Whole foods. Fruits are always good even though I am allergic to them.  I did my Sweaty Yoga at Black Swan Yoga. Tyler did a great job! This is my fifth session doing yoga.  I feel really calm and at peace when I am practicing yoga.  This class was dedicated to me.  Why? I am giving the gift of yoga to my health and my outlook on life.  I do not know about other studios, but the two I love going to really makes me feel positive even about the negative things that comes up.  Among hanging out with friends and family, working out, reading and traveling, yoga makes me get out of bed just to make it in time for morning class. If yoga can be this good to me at the fifth session, I can only imagine how I will feel a month or even a year from now.

Lunch: Caught up with my friend Frank at Pho Danh.  It was nice to catch up.  I always try to make time for a friend.  Today was cold and rainy so pho always do the body good.  I love this weather.  This weather just makes me smile all day long! It is a nice chilly weather where you can breathe it in and know it is fall.  Fall is finally here in Texas people. About time! It is about time for me to bust out my toe socks to compliment my sandals kind of day.

Sweets: I have been craving sweets and happen to stumble upon these cute cupcakes at HEB on S. Congress.  They are covered with elite icing, my favorite! I am not a big butter cream icing kind of fan.

Dinner: Pappa Nguyen made some pork vegetable soup to eat. I enjoy home-cooked meals.

Field Trip: MiMi (pink), Crystal and CiCi

Recap: I had a good day. Rain and all, it was great!

Tyler had Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E playing during our warm-up stage. This song has been stuck in my head.  I want this song as part of my wedding's first dance.

Lu-Ann Special with Landon as desserts

Vinyasa: Started my day with my fourth yoga session.  I was late going to BlackSwanYoga by five minutes.  Alternative: Bodhi Yoga http://www.bodhiyoga.com . Being my first class, I was really excited. To my disappointment,  I had to struggle through a "commercial teaching" style from the instructor who just was not good.  I am not an expert but I do know what to expect for beginners.  Dharma Yoga and Black Swan Yoga still tops my list.  I want to introduce yoga to my mom. Those two studios are the only studios in Austin that I want to have her experience her first yoga at.  Even though I had paid for unlimited one week pass, I am hesitating if I want to try another instructor there or not. I felt like I had received a Lu-Ann version of yoga. First impression does make a difference. I might try again tomorrow morning just to be fair.

Either way, it was still a good workout because I made it a good workout. Lu-Ann made me crave Luby’s for lunch.

Lunch: Luby’s Cafeteria.  I picked up some almond baked fish and sides which hit the spot.  Luby's changed so much over the past year. From service to how the food is being presented, I still like the old school Luby's better. Lu-Ann specials are never a bad deal, not excellent, but good, kind of like yoga this morning.

Landon Pigg: I first fell in love with his song “Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop” last year and listened to him non-stop.  Start my day listening to him this morning, so I would like to share his great music to those who have not heard of him. Funny how AOL.com was featuring his music. http://music.aol.com/video/cant-let-go-in-studio/landon-pigg/2101361

Field Trips: MiMi, Crystal and Lilly (Peppa)

Good News: The dealership called telling me that my new radiator will be coming in tomorrow therefore I will get my baby blue back! I like the gas mileage on the Kia, but I can do without.

Wednesday Cool Day

I had noticed that when I keep on laying in bed, my dog does not hesitate to do the same. He just lays there dazing at me and just do nothing.

Doing nothing is nice every once in a while. It allows us to not think and just relax.

Relaxing on a nice day is a cool thing to do.

Had lunch with the trios today at Thanh Nhi. I got the soda lemonade "my favorite" and chicken fried rice.  I ate only half and Liz ended up killing the other half along with her food. That gal can eat.

Purchased a Starbucks (Red) gift card for my dad. He drinks enough there for me to get a card that can automatically reload. Nice.

Dharma Yoga. My second day of yoga with Keith as the instructor for beginners.  It was a great class! I truly needed it . After the yoga session, I truly feel happier that I let go a lot of emotions and relax. Just allowing gravity to stretch my "melting butta body" is a great concept. My body is loose and not tensed.  If day two is this good, I truly look forward to day 3.

Chon Sum. Had Korean food for dinner. It was decent. I think Korea House and Korea Garden have better food. It was really a nice evening to be out and be active.

Start Fresh

Started my day with my coffee - vanilla latte - from Frank http://hotdogscoldbeer.com/  Tyler, barista, makes some slamming coffee and not to mention does some nice latte art. I had noticed that Maker's Mark had gave them some promotion cups. I like!

Wholefoods Market.  Did some shopping and grabbed some lunch. Saw some cute baby pineapples and could not resist to capture a picture of it! As I was shopping along, I saw some bento lunchbox conatiner. I so want a mini-me to prepare school lunch for! odd feeling.. yes I know.

I now notice that I floss at least 4 times a week and brush my teeth 3 times a day. I do not want to get gum disease and cavities like my friends Liz and Ricky. Shame on them for not flossing!

Dharma Yoga. www.dharma-yoga.net  I took my first session of yoga today. It was AWESOME! I have to admit that I was very nervous, scared and self-conscience. Being afraid of doing the correct poses should not be an issue. That fact that Jeni went with me to reassure me that I should just relaxe and not worry about being judged.  She was right. After class, I was very loose, relaxed and happy.  Key word: happy. The studio was very inviting and warm.  I was introduced to a little bit of thai yoga massage. Very interesting.

Thai Kitchen.  Had some chicken coconute lemongrass soup and beef curry for dinner after yoga. I have been craving some thai coconut soup and satisfied it.

The Yogurt Spot. Got some desserts, Razzgranate sorbet + green tea envy + mochi balls + mandarine oranges * sprinkles = smiles.
