Haircut: Took my mother to get her haircut and I then decided that I want one too. I notice that I only cut my hair when I am in the mood and it happens to be sporadic. We went to California Cuts where Jimmy works on my mother and Lisa tended to me.
Work: Monday sucks. Today seemed to be really slow. I did not even get the chance to work out.
Late Night Munchies: Got hungry past midnight. Ramen and rice is there to make my tummy happy.
Morning: The gals, Cindy, Katherine, Luke and I had brunch at Le Peep . The place was good! I had ordered the Southern Benedict and was not disappointed.
Snack: I then left my midtown crew to meet up with Christine. We had The Yogurt Spot which hit the spot after being disappointed yesterday. As always you can never see my yogurt after I was done with my toppings. The place happen to have the game on. Football and frozen yogurt together in one room makes me a one happy gal!
Asians: We went to go shopping around Chinatown and I happen to see a guy push a kid around the plaza like nothing. I would never see this in my HEB.
Recap: I had a great Sunday hanging out with my best friend Christine. I have not been able to hang out with her much at all therefore it was very nice of her to take the day off. I had visited her parents. Her mom is soooo cute! I finally saw her dogs and they were too adorable. We had forgot to take a picture together for memories, next time!
I am thankful for my great coffee today for accompanying me on my trip back to Austin. Oh how I really needed you!
Music: I happen to really be stuck on A Fine Frenzy ever since I found out she's playing at the The Parish this week. I had missed out on seeing her play during 2009 SXSW .
Morning: Opened and started my day running errands, getting some Fair Bean Coffee and breakfast from Torchy’s Taco . I had brought along some oatmeal to eat but my papa likes breakfast tacos. Who doesn’t? Fair Bean Coffee tries to be as green as they can be, even their plastic cups. I like that.
Errand: Dropped the truck off to get an oil change at Willie’s Services . I really like their services. Every time I bring my car in to get an oil change, they check my car for other problems if any, leaks, cracks on radiator, or even brake pads. I would recommend them for simple good services.
Annoyance: The city is constantly doing construction on our street. It is an inconvenience and it does affect my business. Customers have trouble driving into my parking lot just to park. Before they had blocked the entrance to my store and I had to argue with them to move the cones.
Snacks: I had to finish eating my Boo-liscious cupcake I had bought the other day.
Liquor: Follow Warehouse Liquor on twitter for specials and other events going on. Supporting local liquor store and business is a good thing.
Recap: Did not work out, had to work. For dinner, I had Banh Xeo . It's one of my all time favorite vietnamese home dish!
Morning: I went jogging as my morning activity. It felt great to be outside.Lightly drizzling, the weather seemed to be uplifting to egg me on in continuing to run. I like my running gear. I work out with Nike Triax C3 Hear Rate Watch with Chest Strap.I have been debating if I wanted to buy a new running watch but this one has not been broken to be buying a sportier one.
Lunch: Homeslice http://www.homeslicepizza.com/ I had my monthly lunch with my brother Quang. He never had the pizza here before so it was a perfect place to go! The venue is great! You have the choice to walk up and order at the window or sit inside.Service is always great there but the food is good! We had a medium pizza with sausage, mushrooms, basils and garlic. We ate all except for two slices.
My Sweet Leaf Teahttp://www.sweetleaftea.com/ had a cute saying underneath the cap.I had to share the funny message of what we all have once done before.
SoCo: We walked to the shops and boutiques on South Congress just to feel better after what we had done to our tummy.Saw some unique items and fun stuff. As we were walking toward the Lucy In Disguise With Diamonds http://www.lucyindisguise.com/home.html , we saw a “free” fax machine.I thought the note on the machine was kind of funny. Quang and I looked at some costumes and accessories to gather up some ideas for Halloween this year. I bought a wig. We also went to Uncommon Objectshttp://www.uncommonobjects.com/where they had some dolls and salt n’ pepper shakers that caught my eyes.Other items that caught my eyes happen to be a bit disturbing. They where the doll heads in glass containers. They had some other antique items that I thought were pretty cool; one was the 7up “the uncola” upside down glass.A lot of things there reminded Quang and I of San Angelo and our childhood memories.
Monday Night Shows: I got suckered to sit on the couch doing laundry watching all my favorite shows. The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, House, Heroes and Monday Night Football.I have to admit that the Dolphins and the Jets played a good game.I was able to squeeze a load of laundry in.Now I got tons of clothes to wear for working out! I find myself showing twice a day now ever since I am more active now.
Recap:I did not do yoga today.I really need to do some laundry and clean up the place a bit for the week. I was able to catch up with some friends and family on the phone.I still need to get a dress for this weekend.Tomorrow is a full shift therefore it will be my break day before my good workout on Wednesday.
I really like the wig I bought.I had tried a lot and the one I chose came out great! Glam gal here I come! Now I just need to find the right dress and shoes.
Music: I've been listening to some Rilo Kiley lately. Reminds me of Houston back in the day.
Morning: Started my day with breakfast at Whole foods. Fruits are always good even though I am allergic to them.I did my Sweaty Yoga at Black Swan Yoga. Tyler did a great job! This is my fifth session doing yoga.I feel really calm and at peace when I am practicing yoga. This class was dedicated to me.Why? I am giving the gift of yoga to my health and my outlook on life.I do not know about other studios, but the two I love going to really makes me feel positive even about the negative things that comes up.Among hanging out with friends and family, working out, reading and traveling, yoga makes me get out of bed just to make it in time for morning class. If yoga can be this good to me at the fifth session, I can only imagine how I will feel a month or even a year from now.
Lunch: Caught up with my friend Frank at Pho Danh.It was nice to catch up.I always try to make time for a friend.Today was cold and rainy so pho always do the body good.I love this weather. This weather just makes me smile all day long! It is a nice chilly weather where you can breathe it in and know it is fall. Fall is finally here in Texas people. About time! It is about time for me to bust out my toe socks to compliment my sandals kind of day.
Sweets: I have been craving sweets and happen to stumble upon these cute cupcakes at HEB on S. Congress. They are covered with elite icing, my favorite! I am not a big butter cream icing kind of fan.
Dinner: Pappa Nguyen made some pork vegetable soup to eat. I enjoy home-cooked meals.
Field Trip: MiMi (pink), Crystal and CiCi
Recap: I had a good day. Rain and all, it was great!
Tyler had Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E playing during our warm-up stage. This song has been stuck in my head. I want this song as part of my wedding's first dance.
Morning: Woke up just in time to get ready and head out to my 11:00 run with Liz.
Lady Bird Lake: I am still use to the old name 'Towne Lake.' Today was a beautiful, cool morning to be busting my out-of-shape body to a healthy, fit one. The scenery there is truly nice.I walked and jogged my 3.5 miles. Yay me!
Lunch: Mighty Cone. After our run, we had some Purple Pig, Veggie Slider, and some ACL freebies. All those cones were a bad idea because we ate way too much.We had to walk South Congress to feel better.SoCo always have a great boutiques and shops to browse around. At the candy shop, we saw a lot of weird, old-school and tooth-aching yummies.Liz happened to stumble upon a huge jaw breaker that was ten dollars. She was good to go with her bad of assorted salt-water taffy. Speaking of salt-water taffy, I cannot wait till I sink my teeth in some taffy at the boardwalk in November.
We went to another store, Monkey See, Monkey Do, where they had nothing but cool toys.It was not your average KB-Toy or Toys R’ Us toy store. It was unique and fun.It was a great toy store for us to laugh and be humored. I have bought couple of stuff there as gifts and always received great compliments. One day I will be hosting a dinner gathering with “Snap-a-Party” for everyone just for the fun of it!
Domo: Domo lead me in a bad direction.I had stopped at 7-eleven to get some gas and was side tracked by Domo Slurpee advertisement.Got suckered. The cup was not cool at all. It was a stupid paper cup. Not only was it a stupid paper cup, the Crystal Light Peach Mango Fusion was nasty. Two sipped and the rest danced in the garbage. What a waste.Whatever happened to my favorite Cherry flavor?
Field Trips: MiMi looked really cute in her dress today. Had to capture a photo of her looking cute!
Dim Sum, Drink Sum: Jeni and I went to happy hour at Fortune Seafood Restaurant, http://www.fortuneaustin.com/HH_Oct7/ , for Bacardi Dragon Berry Promotion. It was nice. Dim sum was good and my Dreaming Dragon drink was delicious. You can follow them for updates and special events on Twitter @FortuneATX .
Earl Grey Please: The night was winded down to some nice organic early grey with milk. Spider House http://www.spiderhousecafe.com/ is always a great place to just chill, chit-chat and get some work done. Their music choice is always thumbs-ups from me!
Recap: Overall, my day has been very productive and I got to spend it with my two gals. I got my car back today. It felt so good to be driving my gas-guzzler again, or is it? I have been craving Mighty Cone’s Purple Pig for a while. I am glad that I was able to satisfy my craving.
